On Super Tuesday, Trump won the Arkansas primary with 32.8 per cent of the vote and picked up 16 delegates, just ahead of Cruz (30.5 per cent, 14 delegates) and Rubio (24.9 per cent and 9 delegates). Sanders could only bank on the home-state win and both campaigns were vying for support in Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Oklahoma.
The Democratic presidential candidate may have won four of the five states he targeted, but he lost the night disastrously.

Nearly half of Democratic primary voters say race relations in the USA have gotten worse in the past few years, and over 6 in 10 of them voted for Clinton. And four of those checks were not to her Senate campaign.
But Clinton was so strong in many states that even she won or almost tied with Sanders even among his strong constituencies.
And while results are still coming in, it’s already clear: it’s a great night for Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Among Republicans, Trump has won at least nine states, with three for Cruz and one for Rubio. The unofficial number of Douglas County Republican voters was 791.
Sanders generated an impressive turnout among young adults at the precinct caucuses.
Both Hillary and Bernie would do well to ignore the raucous action taking place in the Republican race and focus on winning the hearts and minds of Democrats (while of course having their strategists making detailed plans for any contingency regarding the outcome in the GOP). His weakness with black voters, a core part of the Democratic constituency, was underscored anew.
