And he also was matter of fact about providing campaign contributions to leading Democrats, including 10 checks to Hillary Clinton, reviled by many conservatives.

“At what point do you realize the Republican Party is unorganized – like the Democratic Party?” That wasn’t one of the dozen states that weighed in on a day known as Super Tuesday because it’s the busiest of the 2016 primary season.

Minnesota stood alone on the Super Tuesday map, handing Florida Sen. Tuesday they were calm and confident as states were called for Clinton.

On Super Tuesday, Trump won the Arkansas primary with 32.8 per cent of the vote and picked up 16 delegates, just ahead of Cruz (30.5 per cent, 14 delegates) and Rubio (24.9 per cent and 9 delegates). Sanders could only bank on the home-state win and both campaigns were vying for support in Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Oklahoma.

The Democratic presidential candidate may have won four of the five states he targeted, but he lost the night disastrously.

“The stakes are too high, and we will do whatever it takes”, he said.

Nearly half of Democratic primary voters say race relations in the USA have gotten worse in the past few years, and over 6 in 10 of them voted for Clinton. And four of those checks were not to her Senate campaign.

But Clinton was so strong in many states that even she won or almost tied with Sanders even among his strong constituencies.

And while results are still coming in, it’s already clear: it’s a great night for Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

“We continue to beat every fundraising goal and, more importantly, make smart and efficient investments”, said Robby Mook, Clinton’s campaign manager.

Trump said it was simply business. That’s why Romney and McCain are speaking out now although the attacks may reinforce Trump’s anti-establishment platform. Marco Rubio to discredit the billionaire businessman.

“What a Super Tuesday!”

“Estimates suggest that the former first lady and secretary of state won 71 percent in Georgia and 64 percent in Virginia”.

Though convention fights are much more talked about than actually occur, an Associated Press delegate count indicates Trump will have to do better in upcoming contests to claim the nomination before the party’s national gathering in July.

Cruz: Yes. Because I gave my word that I would.

Worries among Republicans appeared to grow after Trump briefly refused to disavow former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke during a television interview.

Notching win after win on Super Tuesday, Clinton will leave Sanders far behind in the battle to secure the 2,383 delegates needed to win the party’s nomination.

As of 12 a.m. on Tuesday, Trump is on track to have a total of over 280 delegates, according to The New York Times. He picks up at least 342 delegates.

Among Republicans, Trump has won at least nine states, with three for Cruz and one for Rubio. The unofficial number of Douglas County Republican voters was 791.

Sanders generated an impressive turnout among young adults at the precinct caucuses.

Both Hillary and Bernie would do well to ignore the raucous action taking place in the Republican race and focus on winning the hearts and minds of Democrats (while of course having their strategists making detailed plans for any contingency regarding the outcome in the GOP). His weakness with black voters, a core part of the Democratic constituency, was underscored anew.
