Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry expects to return to action Sunday for Game 4 against the Houston Rockets after missing Games 2 and 3 with a sprained right ankle.
Curry was so convinced he could play in Game 3 that he didn’t bring a suit to wear on the sideline and was therefore unable to watch the game from the bench. That means Curry would not have played since April 16, a full eight days ago by the time Game 4 rolls around.
Asked Friday if he’d go buy a suit in case he doesn’t play Sunday, Curry said: “I will not be going to any suit store”. When you miss that time literally not doing anything its tough. He was happy to be back with his teammates and feels like his work on Friday was a positive step toward playing on Sunday. Obviously, they have my best interest, but it’s kind of hard to take that advice and sit out. The NBA calls its assessment of the closing minutes the “Last Two Minute Report”.
The officiating crew of Scott Foster, Mark Ayotte and Tom Washington had five incorrect no-calls in the final two minutes, including two that would have gone against Harden. “It took a last-second shot to win the game when we clearly had the game beat from the beginning of the game”.
“I think my brother made a really nice play”, Iguodala said after the game. Harden led all scorers with 35 points, his 12th career playoff game with at least 30. That happens. I was awful the whole game.
The Warriors were beating Houston 96-95 when Harden drove left against Iguodala then spun into a reverse pivot for a turnaround jumpshot. That’s when Harden would come down the court, spin Andre Iguodala around and hit the jumper to take the lead.
The Rockets’ 97-96 victory Thursday induced brow-wiping relief rather than chest-bumping enthusiasm.
