Billionaire industrialist Ambani said Jio’s tariff plans would start from around 150 rupees (RM9.14) a month and would cost up to 5,000 rupees (RM304) for high-speed data services. Now the company has again introduced some interesting offers to its customers. At present, about 70 per cent of the revenues of incumbents in telecom come from voice calls. All data plans, except for the 0.3 GB plan.
“Customers should pay for only one service, either voice or data. So today I set a target for team Jio to acquire 100 million customers on the Jio network in the shortest possible time and create a new world record”, he said at RIL’s 42th Annual General Meeting.
Reliance Jio Infocomm believes that it can take on Bharti Airtel in the Indian mobile data market with new strategies. The validity of the unlimited free 4G data surfing and unlimited calling is valid for only 3 months and the post-offer plans are too fantastic and impressive to be adopted by the users who are thinking and worrying about what will go to happen after their 3 months of free service. Further plans are for Rs. 1,499 for 20GB, Rs. 2,499 for 35GB, and Rs. 3,999 for 60GB of 4G data, and twice as much Wi-Fi usage respectively.
Addressing his shareholders meet, Ambani announced free introductory offer from September 05 to December 31, 2016. “And the more data you use, the lower the rate”, he said. Jio network is 5G and 6G ready, said Ambani.
Apart from telecom services, the company also announced the launch of apps for movies, music and television, among others. All voice calls for Jio customer will be absolutely free…
The launch has been hotly anticipated in India whose notoriously patchy mobile network is known for bad reception and irregular pricing structures.
