Nest named Marwan Fawaz as its new CEO on Friday, after Tony Fadell announced he was stepping down.
Fawaz is a cable industry veteran who is not nearly as well-known of a name in Silicon Valley as Fadell, who is a former Apple executive.
But the biggest surprise is that Nest apparently does not know whether Fawaz will relocate to Nest’s Palo Alto, California, headquarters. Fawaz’s current home base is listed as the Greater Denver Area, on is LinkedIn bio.
Asked if the new Nest CEO would be relocating from Denver, a spokesperson told Business Insider: We don’t have that information yet.
