Amber Heard pleads guilty in Australian dog smuggling spat

In the 42-second video, the 52-year-old actor and the 29-year-old actress solemnly speak to the camera and urge people to declare people entering the country to respect Australia’s biosecurity laws.

Oh, she also pleaded guilty Monday to providing a false immigration document when she brought Yorkies Pistol and Boo into the country via private plane in May 2015, the Associated Press reported.

The Late Show host Stephen Colbert has mocked Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s apology to the people of Australia following their recent dog smuggling trial. “That is why Australia has to have such strong biosecurity laws”.

“Australians are just as unique –both warm and direct”, a grim-looking Johnny later chimes in.

Depp and Heard appeared before a court in Sydney, Monday morning and according to TMZ, the couple together with their lawyers entered a guilty plea to falsifying border protection documents.

Heard can have her record cleared if she remains out of trouble.

The apology was posted to Facebook by Australia Minister of Agriculture Barnaby Joyce, who, after the charges were first filed, suggested that the dogs, if they weren’t “buggered off back to the United States”, might otherwise face being euthanized. But finally, in a conclusion that strongly resembles a plot point in that episode of The Simpsons where they go to Australia, Heard and Depp were pretty much let off scot-free, as long as they apologized.

Australian laws prohibit live animals and plants, plant material, animal products and some food from overseas, unless the government permits, as they can introduce some of the world’s most serious pests and diseases to the country. But Magistrate Bernadette Callaghan sentenced Heard instead to a one month good behavior bond. The two put on a great performance in the clip, declaring “Australia is a lovely island” and that you must “declare everything when you come to Australia” like an advertisement plastered at the worldwide airport.

Nonetheless, Joyce said that the video will be used as an “educational tool”.
