Alabama proved again why it is the elite program in the Southeastern Conference. If they recruit Pete Burks or Robert Johnson or Casey Dick, or try to play a good talent too early, then they are mediocre.

Ohio State, however, remains No. 2 in the USA TODAY Sports Amway Coaches Poll, trailing No. 1 Alabama. “We got to do that by just staying focused, executing and just paying attention to the details”.

Two of the three AAC teams with wins against UC this season rank in the re-rank’s top 25, with Houston at No. 17 and South Florida No. 24.

During last week’s 49-30 win over the Razorbacks, the Crimson Tide’s front seven tormented Allen, sacking him six times while hurrying him on 12 occasions.

The scores were the 54th and 55th touchdowns on defense or special teams for Alabama in Nick Saban’s 10 seasons as coach. But the mistakes we made against the No. 1 team, it’s not going to happen. The crowd came out and did unbelievable job. “We just let them all down, so we’ve gotta move on”. Just how efficient was Alabama on the night?

Regardless of the style of offense used by the Crimson Tide these days, the results have remained constant during the Saban era. The Hogs strung together some first downs before eventually punting. If Arkansas isn’t going to get any in-state players from the eastern and SE and SW parts of the state in numbers, it should get in whatever conference Kansas and Kansas State and Iowa State are in over the next generation and compete there. For as long as he’s in Tuscaloosa, Hurts will be the starting quarterback. Linebacker time Williams and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick both scored defensive touchdowns in the road victory.

The Crimson Tide did not let off from there.

The 6-foot, 240-pound Pettway was dominant for the Tigers, running around and through Mississippi State’s defense as Auburn built a 35-0 halftime lead. After a personal foul penally on Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema backed up the kickoff, Alabama used the short field to add another score.

“I asked the umpire who threw the flag, I wondered why he threw the flag”, said Bielema. “He watches guard to guard, and that was a tackle. I told him what I wanted to do and that was to be a coach”. While the offense slashed, gashed and dominated the Razorbacks, Alabama’s defense left Frank Broyles Field licking some pretty hefty wounds. Bama, 2. Vols. In bowl game appearances among SEC teams, Alabama is tops, Tennessee second.

He’s trending upwards, more and more looking like a return trip to New York City in mid-December is an inevitability, after throwing four touchdown passes in a 56-10 thrashing of Boston College. Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight is having turnover issues. The three interceptions are his only three of the season as well. However, those interceptions proved costly.

The Hogs will need a huge day from quarterback Austin Allen and company in order to shock the world. (1992-93), Clint Stoerner (1997-98), Brandon Allen (2014-15) and Ryan Mallett (2009), for second place in school history for the most consecutive passes without an interception. So will a 100-yard return.

Upshot: Navy got 46 points and 306 rushing yards with its triple option, and the national chase lost Houston from its impending discussion of whether, in a sport with a snobby caste system, a non-Power Five team might gain access to the four-team playoff. The noise didn’t help the Arkansas defense, which gave up over 10 yards per carry in the first half. On the offensive side, the Buckeyes have averaged 53.2 points per game (No. 3 nationally) and 537.6 yards per game (No. 5), all while maintaining a +1.6 turnover margin (No. 4). “I was kind of getting frustrated”. “I know I didn’t have a ideal game”. The Razorbacks will be back in the 6 p.m. slot next week when they play Ole Miss in Fayetteville.
