A break from the heat will also occur on Friday with highs in the lower to middle 80s. Low temperatures will stay in the 60s and 70s, and afternoon highs Tuesday will warm into the mid 90s. I’d plan on the possibility of a shower or storm even before lunchtime tomorrow.
Long range computer models show a cold front moving through Friday night followed by unseasonably more pleasant temperatures and humidity over the weekend. So if you missed out on the rain over the past few days you still have a decent chance of seeing some wet weather through mid-week.
We’ve got a higher chance of experiencing severe storms on Tuesday, with the entire Kansas City metro now under an enhanced risk of seeing some severe weather.
Highs will be in the low 90s.
We’ll see a mixture of sun and clouds throughout the day today. Highs Tuesday will be in the upper 80s with scattered showers and t-storms.
One last day of storm chances before the HEAT kicks in! The record high for Saturday is 95 degrees, so we will approach the record along with some very thick humidity. The heat index will climb into upper 90s Saturday afternoon and near 100 Sunday afternoon.
