The latest weekly release on initial jobless claims will be out at 8:30 a.m. ET.
Economists estimate that first-time filings for unemployment insurance totaled 277,000 last week, down 1,000 from the prior period, according to Bloomberg.
This is the last big data release before the jobs report on Friday, which is expected to show that the pace of job gains slowed as the US economy added 190,000 jobs.
In a client preview, Bank of America Merrill Lynch economists noted that the trend in jobless claims has moved higher in the last few weeks.
“But we are not alarmed by this development,” they wrote, since claims are still below the crucial 300,000 level.
We’ll have the latest once the data cross, so refresh this page for updates.
